| MS Word Japanese version seems to behave in a different way than the English version MS Word when you create web pages with images, and the accompanying image folder will be rejected by the Geocities server as invalid file. The following is a solution for that particular problem. | ||
| 1 |
Open the “school name website” folder on the desktop, and check the folder name. If the file name is “index.files” (index dot files), follow the instructions below.
If it’s “index_files” (index underscore files), then the problem is something else.
| 2 |
Right-click the “index.htm” icon (not the folder), click “プログラムから開く(Open with)”, then click “Notepad (メモ帳).”
| 3 |
The “index.htm” file will open with Notepad. You will see rows of texts.
This is the “HTML” code for your “index.htm” file. Don’t worry. You
don’t have to read or write the code.
| 4 |
The “置換(Replace)” dialogue box will appear.
| 5 |
Click “ファイル(File)”
and click “上書き保存(Save),”
then click “X” at the right top corner of Notepad. The “index.htm” file
will close.
| 6 |
In
the “school name website” folder, right-click
“index.files” folder, and click “名前の変更(Rename).”
| 7 |
The folder name “index.files” will be high-lighted. Press the “Delete”
key.
| 8 |
Type in “index_files” (index underscore files) in the box and press the
“Enter” key. Please make sure that you type in the folder name
correctly.
| 9 |
Double-click “index.htm” file to open it.
| 10 |
If
the image(s) and/or background appears fine, you have fixed the problem.
Go back to L-7 and upload the files. |
| Attention | ||
Whenever you create a new web page using MS Word Japanese version, you
will need to do the same processes shown above. |
